ProFinss ("we", "our", or "us") operates the GST Information Reckoner mobile application (the "App"). This Privacy Policy informs users regarding our policies with the collection, use, storage, and disclosure of personal information when you use our App.

By using the App, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy. If you do not agree with the terms of this Privacy Policy, please do not use the App.

1. Information We Collect

We collect the following categories of personal information to provide and improve our services:

a) Information You Provide Directly:

• Mobile Phone Number – Used for account login and identification. We use phone number-based authentication (no password required).
• Name – Your name as provided during registration, used to personalize your experience.
• City and State – Your location information used to personalize content delivery.

b) Information Collected Automatically:

• Device Identifiers – A unique device ID is generated to manage multi-device access and enforce device limits per subscription.
• Push Notification Tokens – Firebase Cloud Messaging (FCM) tokens are collected to deliver push notifications about GST updates, circulars, and important changes.
• App Usage Data – We may collect information about which categories and content items you visit within the app to improve the user experience.
• Subscription Information – Subscription start date, end date, plan type, and status are stored to manage your access.

c) Information We Do NOT Collect:

• We do not collect financial information, bank details, or GST return data.
• We do not collect biometric data.
• We do not collect precise GPS location data.
• We do not access your contacts, photos, camera, or microphone.

2. How We Use Your Information

The information collected is used for the following purposes:

• Authentication – To verify your identity and log you into the App using your phone number.
• Content Delivery – To provide access to GST circulars, notifications, case law, and other GST-related content.
• Push Notifications – To send you timely updates about new GST circulars, orders, and important regulatory changes.
• Subscription Management – To manage your subscription status, renewal dates, and device limits.
• Device Management – To enforce subscription device limits and provide multi-device session management.
• App Improvement – To understand usage patterns and improve app performance and content organization.
• Customer Support – To respond to your inquiries and resolve issues.

3. Data Storage and Security

Your data is stored securely on Google Firebase (Firebase Realtime Database) and our backend servers hosted on Google Cloud Run, both located in the Asia-South1 (Mumbai, India) region.

We implement the following security measures:

• All data transmission between the App and our servers uses HTTPS/TLS encryption.
• Sensitive data fields are encrypted at rest using AES-256 encryption.
• Access to the database is restricted through Firebase Security Rules and server-side authentication.
• Push notification tokens are stored securely and associated only with your device identifier.

While we strive to use commercially acceptable means of protecting your personal information, no method of electronic transmission or storage is 100% secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security.

4. Data Sharing and Disclosure

We do not sell, trade, or rent your personal information to third parties.

We may share limited data with the following service providers who assist in operating our App:

• Google Firebase – For database hosting, push notifications (FCM), and app infrastructure. Google's privacy policy applies: https://policies.google.com/privacy
• Google Cloud Platform – For backend server hosting.
• Google Play Services – For app distribution on Android devices.

We may also disclose your information if required by law, regulation, or legal process, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of our users or the public.

5. Data Retention

We retain your personal information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide you the App's services. If you wish to delete your account and associated data, you may contact us at the email address below.

• Account data (name, phone number, city, state) is retained while your subscription is active.
• Device tokens are automatically removed when you log out or uninstall the App.
• After subscription expiry, your data may be retained for up to 12 months for re-activation purposes, after which it may be deleted.

6. Your Rights

You have the following rights regarding your personal data:

• Access – You may view your personal information within the App's Profile section.
• Correction – You may request correction of inaccurate data by contacting us.
• Deletion – You may request deletion of your account and personal data by contacting us at customercare@profinss.com.
• Opt-out of Notifications – You may disable push notifications through your device's system settings at any time.

7. Children's Privacy

The App is intended for use by adults (18 years and older) who are GST professionals, tax practitioners, and business owners. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under the age of 18. If we discover that a child under 18 has provided us with personal information, we will promptly delete it from our servers.

8. Permissions

The App requests the following device permissions:

• Internet Access – Required to fetch GST content and communicate with our servers.
• Network State – To detect connectivity changes and provide offline functionality.
• Push Notifications – To deliver timely GST updates. You can disable this in your device settings.

9. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make changes, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. We encourage you to review this page periodically. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
